THE INDOOR SCHOOL

Our passion for climbing is infectious. Whether you're brand new to the sport or already a seasoned climber, we've got a class catered to honing your skills and upping your psych. 

Our instructors bring to our community a complete array of technical skills, passion for teaching, and vertical mileage in all styles of climbing, from bouldering to sport, trad, and ice. We offer class series in toprope, bouldering, sport lead, and Get Outdoors (GetOut!). Also keep an eye out for special clinics on training, slacklining, and more!

CLIMBING 101: 
TOPROPE BASICS

This 2-hour class gives you everything you need to get started with indoor rock climbing! We’ll cover harnesses, knots, belaying, and get you climbing. You’ll learn everything you need to know to pass the belay test.

Age requirement: must be at least 14 to take this class

TOPROPE MOVEMENT

This 1.5-hour class gives you essential techniques to progress as a climber. We focus on footwork, weight distribution, balance, and working with your center of gravity on the wall.

Prerequisite: toprope belay certification at The Cliffs.

LEARN TO CLIMB PACKAGE

LTC is our welcome package for brand new climbers. It includes two classes (Climbing 101: Toprope Basics and your choice of Toprope Movement or Bouldering Basics) to build fundamental climbing skills and a one-month pass for unlimited climbing + fitness—rental gear included!

Convert your package to a membership at the end of your month and we’ll waive the $49 initiation fee.

FAMILY LEARN TO CLIMB

BOULDERING BASICS

Build your body’s movement vocabulary to climb stronger and more efficiently! Tailored drills build essential skills, including balance, matching and crossing hands and feet, and getting used to the various types of handholds (jugs, crimps, gastons, etc.).

BOULDERING MOVEMENT

Get the skills + drills to start climbing harder and smarter. Learn to read and assess boulder problems before you even get on them and learn great training methods to start climbing those V grades. This class is recommended for climbers breaking into the V3 – V5 range.

SPORT LEAD CLIMBING

Get your introduction to the exciting world of sport lead climbing! This comprehensive class is taught in two 3-hour sessions. You’ll learn clipping stances and techniques, lead belaying techniques, including feeding out rope and catching falls, and finally, you’ll take a whipper!

Prerequisites: Must be toprope certified at The Cliffs and able to onsight 5.8 and work 5.9.

GET OUT 1
TOPROPE ANCHORS

This course is perfect for the gym climber pining to get outside for the first time.  Learn the basics of setting up your first toprope anchors outdoors and all the differences between the gym and the big bad cliff.  We'll cover everything from bolted and natural anchors and different equipment to outdoor ethics and Leave No Trace etiquette to ensure continued access to our favorite outdoor areas.

This course is taught by our partner Bobby Ferrari of High Xposure Adventures, a climbing school + guide service.

Prerequisites: Must be toprope certified at The Cliffs.

FOOTWORK BASICS

Develop an arsenal of footwork techniques--how to properly place and weight your feet when climbing on various climbing terrains. Start climbing harder and more efficiently with these essential skills!

INTENSIVE FOOTWORK

For intermediate climbers crushing V3/5.10 and up. Learn to perfect your foot placement and body positioning in this intensive clinic. We also cover advanced footwork techniques, including toe hooks, heel hooks, bicycles, and more!

HANGBOARD TRAINING

Learn to utilize this essential piece of training equipment to improve finger strength and power.
